Page 199, Section 6.6.1The description of the definition of the L-curve is confusing as Eqs. (6.45)-(6.48) and Figures 6.6 and 6.7 do not agree with the statement. Section 6.6.1 should begin with:
“To construct the L-curve, plot the regularized solution on the vertical axis against the squared norm of the regularized residual on the horizontal axis over the range of regularization.”
The assignment of axes for the L-curve is somewhat arbitrary and not universal as noted in a later paragraph toward the end of Section 6.6.1.

Page 238, Figure 7.35The notations in the figure and in the legend regarding the number of singular values used to generate the curves are mislabeled. These should be labeled “nsingrather than “niter“.
